Reviews
Our family enjoyed staying here. It was big enough for all 12 of us although the bed distribution was not the best for our group which was comprised mainly of several young families. Perhaps a better bedroom layout might have helped. For example, there are two large master suites upstairs, which only have a king size bed in each. But there’s lots of room so maybe it would be good to have some twin beds or bunkbeds in those rooms so that a family could stay in them and have more room. As it was the two senior members occupied, one of those big rooms and a family of five occupied a much smaller room with bunkbeds in it on the first floor. Just an idea. Nevertheless we managed well. The property manager was helpful with a few needs we had. We will consider staying here again.
This was the perfect property for the annual family ski trip with our adult kids. The common area layout was super: an open floorplan split between the kitchen, dining room & family room. The kitchen had all the odds & ends we needed for making breakfast every morning & cooking dinner most nights. The bedrooms had plenty of space & the beds were very comfortable. We have two "must haves" for a rental: a grill & hot tub. We used the grill to prepare all of our dinners. We used the hot tub after skiing everyday; it was perfectly clean & seemed quite new. Though we only had one (huge) SUV for the group, between the garage & the driveway, there is easily space for three vehicles. The location is great. The ride to the base thru the main parking lot was 5 minutes tops (lesson learned after the 1st drive; no need to go out to the main road). To ski out, we crossed Rose Bud & walked between the 4th & 5th houses up from Rising Bull to the trail behind them. With speed down the hill, we could just make it up onto the bridge over Rising Bull. From there it was an easy ski down to the White Otter lift. To ski in, we came down Black & Blue (with speed!) past the Challenger Lift onto Bozeman Trail & followed the signs to Rose Bud then walked back between the same two houses. Every time it snowed (every day!), the deck got shoveled & the street & driveway plowed. Regan was quick & friendly with responses to a few questions & a request for a propane refill. Would definitely stay here again!
House has 4 rooms - two very large upstairs with king beds. Downstairs rooms consisted of a small queen room and a bunk room (twin over twin and queen over queen). We had a family in each room and it worked well. The upstairs rooms have plenty of room for an air mattress - For the kids. Kitchen, dinning and living room were very nice. The hot tube was nice and fit about 6 people. Location. To ski out you had to walk across the road and put your skis on (very close). You then skied 100 yrds and had to pole/walk up a small incline then and short 1 min run to the lift serving the residential community. From the top of the lift you could easily get to the base of explorer 2. You could reach swift current 6 or ramcharger 8 with a little work (we did that every am with 5 kids). Skiing back to the house involved a bit more work with some flat areas but overall not terrible. You would connect to a green off the base of challenger or off lower morning star. There were three sections where I had to pull the kids 10 to 30 yrds. When I did it on my board without kids I made it the entire way without taking the board off - being able to maintain my speed thru the flats. Parking: we had 3 SUVs and could have fit a fourth. Overall we would stay there again for the price. Downside was it wasn’t right at the base/took a little effort to ski to/from the house - not a deal breaker. Upside: Very nice house. Kitchen. Grill. Hot tub. Large common space.
